If you’re just looking for a quick snack or you’re hosting a party ; one of the easiest and fastest things you can make is a dip. Dips are flavorful with a variety of foods. Pair it with tortilla chips, fries or potato chips, unless YOU’RE on a diet and need healthy snacks like carrot sticks & pepper slices. Here are some suggestions That should only take 20 minutes.
GUACAMOLE
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup chopped tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. chopped red onion
- 2 gloves garlic ,minced
- 2 Tbsp. lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
Instructions
In a bowl combine the tomatoes, red onion, garlic, lime juice, olive oil, salt and black pepper. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Begin to mash the avocados and gently stir inside the bowl with the other ingredients. If you wish, cover the surface of the bowl with plastic wrap and chill up to one hour. Serve with tortilla chips.
QUESO
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeño, minced
- 4 oz green chilis
- 6 oz Velveeta cheese or shredded American cheese
- 6 oz Gruyere cheese
- 4 oz. shredded Pepper Jack cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 4 oz green chilis
- 1/4 c. freshly chopped cilantro
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
Place olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat let it heat for 3 minutes . Add chopped onions and cook until soft for 5 minutes. Next add garlic and the jalapeño and cook until fragrant for 1 more minute. Then add all of the cheeses , as well as the milk and stir until cheese is melted. Season with salt and pepper. Lastly stir in tomatoes, green chilis, and cilantro. Enjoy!
DILL DIP
Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sliced scallions
- 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
- 1 Tbsp. lemon zest
- 1 garlic clove, finely grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a bowl stir the sour cream, mayonnaise, scallions, dill, lemon zest, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Chill for 3 hours or up to 3 days.
SALSA
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lbs ripe Roma tomatoes (4 or 5)
- 1 (14.5 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
- 2 chopped green onions
- 1/3 cup chopped red onion
- 1 jalapeño chopped
- 1/3 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 chopped garlic clove
- 2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp granulated sugar (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse in 1 second bursts until the contents are fine and well blended. You can also use a blender or mix ingredients well with a spoon in a bowl.
